General Description: Gila Hot Springs Campground is a rustic private owned campground hot springs along the West Fork Gila River in the GIla National Forest of southwestern New Mexico. This campground resort offers camping and natural hot spring rock walled pools with clothing optional after dark.
Location: From Silver City, New Mexico it is 40 miles or an hour and 20 minutes.

Accessibility: Gila Hot Springs Campground is very accessible. You can drive right up to the campsite on paved road. It is an easy walk around the campground.

Hot Springs: Gila Hot Springs Campground source is between 147 to 154 degrees. The hot springs campground has three pools with natural rock perimeters and gravel bottoms. Each pool has its own personality and temperature so you are sure to find one that pleases you. They call the geothermal water "sweet springs" because it has no sulphur odor. The normal temperature of the pools is between 101º - 104º degrees The springs vary in temperatures depending on the season.
Hot Spring Tips: There are twelve camping areas spaced for privacy. It a good idea to make reservations on their website. The camping fee includes hot springs use. There is day use for soaking only. Soakers must leave by dark. No glass, foods or smoking at the pools for safety and sanitation reasons. No alcoholic beverages in the pool area. They are pet friendly. Pets are allowed as long as they are disciplined and quiet. (Pets are never allowed in the pools!) Clothing optional after dark. Bathing suits required during day use. Toilet facilities (composting) and drinking water is available. Doc Campbell’s Post is about 0.4 miles away, for shower facilities, refreshments, ice, souvenirs, gasoline, food, and some camp supplies. Check out the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument it it close to the hot springs.
