General Description: Stinky Hot Springs is a primitive and free hot springs in the beautiful state of Utah. Adjacent to a highway you will find three undeveloped and dirty cement walled tubs. Clothing is optional. Stinky Hot Springs is appropriately named after the high levels of sulfur.
Location: From Salt Lake City, Utah is about 70 miles or an hour drive to the hot springs.
Directions: From Salt Lake City, Utah take I-15 N 4 min (1.4 mi) Follow I-15 N to UT-13 N/Promontory Rd in Box Elder County. Take exit 365 from I-15 N 49 min (58.0 mi) Drive to UT-83 N 10 min (9.2 mi)
Accessibility: Stinky Hot Springs is very accessible. The hot springs is along the highway. You can drive right up to the hot springs.
Hot Springs: Stinky Hot Springs have three cement walled tubs. The source comes out at 107 degrees. The sulfur geothermal tubs range in temperature from 102- 99 degrees.
Hot Spring Tips: Stinky Hot Springs is on private property. The owner does allow use to the public. Stinky has very high levels of sulfur. The Health Department reported that "neither the water nor the facility meet minimum health standards for bathing, and permits will not be issued." There is no camping allowed. Clothing is optional though the highway runs very close to the hot springs. This hot spring is pet friendly. Dogs should be leashed. Dogs should never use hot springs it is not good for them.
