General Description: Upper Potosi Hot Springs is a public and free primitive geothermal rock walled and gravel bottomed pool along the South Willow Creek located in the Gallatin Range of Southwestern Montana. Parking and camping is available Potosi Campground. Clothing is optional.
Location: From Butte, Montana is 60 miles or about an hour to the hot springs.
Directions: From Butte, Montana take I-90 from Montana St 4 min (1.3 mi) Follow I-90 to MT-2 E/MT-359 in Cardwell. Take exit 256 from I-90

Accessibility: Upper Potosi Hot Springs is off road hot springs adventure. Check road conditions. The off road may have pot holes. Park at the Potosi Campground and Picnic Area. From the Potosi Campground follow the trail about a mile and half to the hot springs.
Hot Springs: Upper Potosi Hot Springs has a primitive rock walled and gravel bottomed geothermal pool. The source enters from the hillside and also seeps from the bottom of the hot springs. The temperature of the hot springs range from 90 - 99 degrees based on the season.
Hot Spring Tips: Upper Potosi Hot Springs is on public land and is free. The hot springs are surrounded by lodgepole pine fence to keep the cattle out the pools. Camping is available at Potosi Campground. Clothing is optional. This hot springs is pet friendly. Dogs must be leashed. Dogs should not go into hot springs.
