Hot Springs: Alameda’s Hot Springs Retreat sources its mineral water from two on-site geothermal springs, delivering water between 110–120°F. The water is rich in minerals such as bicarbonates, sulfates, carbonates, calcium, magnesium, arsenic, and silica, which are considered beneficial for relaxation and wellness. Each soaking tub—both indoor and outdoor—offers guests the ability to adjust the temperature with separate hot and cold mineral taps. The retreat features four fully fenced, private outdoor soaking tubs on a wooden deck, which can be reserved individually for guest privacy. These outdoor tubs are available seasonally (April–October) for an additional hourly fee. Inside, most rooms and suites include private hot spring tubs that fill directly with mineral water—a highlight of guest stays. The exact number varies, but current reports indicate that at least seven to ten rooms feature private soaking tubs, with some units offering larger or specialty tubs such as jacuzzi or clawfoot styles. All water amenities are cleaned and drained between each guest for hygiene and comfort.
Hot Spring Tips: Clothing is not optional in any outdoor area at Alameda’s Hot Springs Retreat—swimsuits are always required outside. If you want a private, clothing-optional soak, choose a room with an in-room tub; all outdoor tubs and common areas require a suit. Book early and confirm your soaking option: not every room has a private mineral tub, so request this when you reserve if it’s important to you. Outdoor tubs are in high demand, especially on weekends, so advance booking is strongly recommended. Walk-ins for outdoor tubs are sometimes available, but reservations come first.
The retreat’s generous pet policy welcomes dogs and cats of any size at no extra charge. Free sauna use is included for all overnight guests—a simple signup at the office is all you need. Both the sauna and soaking amenities are guest favorites.
Day use is available April through October, 9am–9pm, for non-overnight guests. Call ahead or stop by to reserve a tub or sauna. Walk-in day soaks are occasionally available at $20/hr for two people, but advance reservations are suggested for best availability. Alameda’s offers 14 rooms and cabins, each with a kitchen or kitchenette, dishes, cookware, and utensils provided for meal prep. Guests are encouraged to bring their own groceries and favorite food items; while there are small groceries—including Camas Organic Market and Buck’s Grocery—within walking distance in town, bringing what you like ensures you have everything you need for comfortable, self-catered meals
