General Description: Hot Lake Hot Springs is a reopened and refurbished hot springs resort located in central Oregon. Hot Lake Hotel offers outdoor and indoor soaking tubs. Hot Lake Hot Springs claims they are the largest springs in the world. The mineral thermal water flows into the 8-acre pond at a rate about 3 million gallons per day. Overnight accommodations are available.
Location: From Portland, Oregon it is 270 miles or 4 hours to drive to the hot springs.
Directions: From Portland, Oregon take Follow I-84 E to OR-203 S in Union County. Take exit 265 from I-84 E 3 h 57 min (262 mi) Drive to OR-203 S 6 min (5.3 mi)
Accessibility: Hot Lake Hot Springs is very accessible. You can drive right up to the resort. Once at the resort it is an easy walk around the property. Hot Lake is handicap accessible.
Hot Springs: Hot Lake Hot Springs are the largest springs in the world. There are two or more spring orifices where 180° to 208° Fahrenheit mineral thermal water flows into the 8-acre pond at a rate about 3 million gallons per day. Five lakeside soaking pools are available for relaxation. There is a bathhouse between the lake and the Hot Lake Hotel. The resort has soaking tubs on the shore of the lake. The 200-degree Fahrenheit geothermal water is pumped into hot tubs from the artesian well.
Hot Spring Tips: Hot Lake Hot Springs does not have a day-use option. However, walk-ins bathing is available. Unlimited soaking is reserved for overnight guests. No chemicals are used to treat the water. Open year round, Clothing is required. Check out the newly renovated 60-seat movie theater.
