General Description: Penny Hot Springs is a primitive and natural rock walled hot springs along the banks of the Crystal River in Garfield County in Colorado. Penny Hot Springs are free to the public. Day use only.
Location: From Glenwood Springs, Colorado is 25 miles or about 30 minutes to drive to the hot springs.
Directions: From Glenwood Springs, Colorado take CO-133 S 1.0 mi At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit and stay on CO-133 S Destination will be on the left 12.7 mi Penny Hot Springs
Accessibility: Penny Hot Springs is accessible. You can drive up to the hot springs. There is a turnoff to park ..It is located on the banks of the Crystal River. It is about 100 yards north of mile marker 55 along Highway 133. The path is steep.
Hot Springs: Penny Hot Springs has a source of over 130 degrees. Penny boasts many primitive pools that are separated from the cold river water by arranged rocks walling in the water. The pools depend on the river runoff. How many pools depend on the volunteered built pools along the river. The water is all natural. Clothing is optional.
Hot Spring Tips: Penny Hot Springs is day use only. There is no camping at the hot springs. This hot springs is pet friendly. They must be leashed at all times. Please no dogs in the hot springs. This hot springs gets alot of foot traffic it is recommended to bring a bathing suit. Be careful the source is very hot. Right down the road is Avalanche Hot Springs.
