General Description: Scenic Hot Springs is a privately owned, hike‑in natural hot spring perched on a steep, forested slope in the Cascade Mountains near Stevens Pass in Washington. The springs sit on private land within the Okanogan–Wenatchee National Forest, and access is strictly by advance online reservation with no walk‑ins allowed. Visitors follow a moderately strenuous uphill trail to reach a small complex of primitive soaking pools with mountain views, creating a secluded, off‑the‑grid experience for those prepared for the hike and rustic conditions.
Location: From Seattle, Washington is 80 miles or about an hour and 30 minutes to the hot springs,.

Accessibility: Scenic Hot Springs is only accessible by the permission of the owner. This is private property. You park along the highway and it is about a mile to hike uphill to the hot springs. Follow trail to the power towers which leads to the hot springs. The hot springs are on a steep hill. In the winter the trail and road may not be accessible.
Hot Springs: Scenic has four simple soaking tubs in a small, minimally developed hillside clearing. The main soaking area centers on two stone pools and a couple of basic tubs that are fed by naturally heated geothermal water piped from the hillside at about 105°F, with pool temperatures usually ranging from roughly 102°F up to around 109°F and sometimes dropping in early spring when cold snowmelt seeps into the source; the water is natural and not treated.
Hot Spring Tips: Reservations are mandatory, and permits are limited each day, so book online well in advance and screenshot your confirmation and directions before you lose cell service. Plan for a roughly 4‑mile round‑trip hike with about 1,100 feet of elevation gain, bring sturdy footwear, traction or snowshoes in winter, and pack extra layers, water, and snacks. There is a simple toilet available near the springs, but you should still use the restroom at the trailhead if possible and never relieve yourself near the pools or creek. Clothing is optional at the pools, pets and camping are not allowed, glass and fires are prohibited, and you must pack out all trash and follow the landowner’s rules or risk fines and loss of access for everyone. Winter visits require real winter gear: layered synthetic or wool clothing (no cotton), extra food and water, plus snowshoes or skis and traction like spikes or crampons for icy slopes. Cell service is weak at the parking area but better higher on the trail and strong at the springs, so download your confirmation, map, and weather forecast before leaving home.
