Hot Springs: What makes this Feather River Hot Springs truly unique is that it is the only destination in California featuring two distinct mineral sources on a single property. The soaking area consists of one cement tub with a central divider that separates a lithium source from a sulfur source. The lithium-rich water is located on the riverside of the tub, while the slightly larger sulfur-fed section is situated on the land side. Both sources provide 100% natural, untreated mineral water with temperatures typically ranging between 99°F and 104°F. For those seeking a refreshing cold plunge, the Feather River is immediately adjacent to the soaking area. Access to the springs is strictly by reservation only and must be arranged at least 24 hours in advance. To request permission for a soak, you must text the owner, Rocki, at 925-783-2913. Soaks are scheduled in two-hour windows, and guests can choose between a shared or private experience when coordinating with the owner. Please note that the hot springs are adults only (no children allowed) and clothing is required at all times, as this is not a clothing-optional location.
Hot Spring Pro Tips•
- Soaking Inclusion: Soaking access is included with all camping and cabin rentals.
- Strict Reservation Policy: Reservations are mandatory and must be confirmed well in advance. The owner is very firm on this policy—do not arrive without a confirmed booking.
- Hot-to-Cold Detox: Use the adjacent Feather River for a cold plunge. Alternating between the hot mineral water and the cold river is an excellent way to naturally detoxify.
- Hydration & Mineral Effects: Stay well-hydrated and monitor your soaking time. The high sulfur and mineral content acts as a potent natural laxative and will detox you quickly if you stay in too long.
- No On-Site Amenities: This is a rustic location with no flushing toilets. Please bring all necessary supplies, including water, as the nearest resources are located in the small town of Twain.
- Shade & Seating: There is no natural shade at the tubs. It is highly advised to bring your own shade structure, portable chairs, and a fresh change of clothes for when you finish.
- Soaking Only: Do not drink the mineral water; it is strictly for soaking.
- Summer Events: Keep an eye out for the Stilldream Music Festival, which takes place nearby during the summer and is a great seasonal option for visitors.
