General Description: Chattanooga Hot Springs is located along the Middle Fork Boise River in the Boise National Forest in Altanta, Idaho. Chattanooga boasts a rock walled hot springs pool fed by a geothermal waterfalls cascading down the mountain side. Along the Boise River there are rock walled hot spring pools mixed with the river.
Location: From Lowman. Idaho is 56 miles or about two hours and 50 minutes to drive to the hot springs.
Directions: From Lowman. Idaho head southwest on ID-21 S toward Rock Creek Rd 24 min (14.9 mi) Take Crooked River Rd, Little Owl Creek Rd/NF-384, N Fork Boise River Rd/NF-327, Swanholm Rd, ... and Middle Fork Boise River Rd to your destination in Elmore County 2 h 26 min (41.4 mi)
Accessibility: Chattanooga Hot Springs is not easily accessible. The conditions of the dirt roads can be harsh depending on the season. The hike down to the springs is steep. During spring runoff this hot springs may be submerged.
Hot Springs: Chattanooga Hot Springs has a source of about 110 degrees. Multiple geothermal waterfalls cascades down the mountainside. Chattanooga boasts a large rock walled hot springs pool fed by a geothermal waterfall. This hot springs also offers rock walled hot springs pools along the river depending on the season and if volunteers have built them up. The geothermal water entering the pool is 105 degrees. The hot springs pool has a temperature of 100 - 102 degrees. The water is 100 % all natural. Clothing is optional.
Hot Spring Tips: Chattanooga Hot Springs is deep into the Boise National Forest. It is near the mining town of Atlanta. There is camping available at Powerplant Campground. It is advised to go later in the season due to spring runoff. This hot springs is pet friendly. Please no dogs in hot springs.
