Hot Springs: Holtville Hot Springs has two outdoor hot springs pools. The main pool is a concrete tub large and deep enough for maybe 10 people total. It has algae on the sides and the temperature is usually between 102- 106 degrees. The water cascades into the second and drasmall, shallow tub that is cooler and popular with the kids. Then all the water drains to a lagoon surrounded by palm trees which is cool. There is a sign that says No Swimming. In the large, hot concrete tub is a valve you can open and close to adjust the flow of water into it. If you open it, more hot water will flow in and the tub will get hotter. If it is closed, more water is diverted to the shower pipe, so the shower gets stronger (and cooler, if the spray is directed upward). .
