General Description: Sundial Hot Springs is a hidden jewel in Gila National Forest along the San Francisco River in New Mexico. Sundial boasts two primitive and artsy hot spring pools. Reservations required 48 hours in advance at minimum. Sundial Hot Springs has day use and overnight accommodations.
Location: From Silver City , New Mexico is 60 miles or about an hour to drive to the hot springs.
Directions: From Silver City , New Mexico take US-180 W 54.7 mi Turn left onto Sundial Springs Rd 1.1 mi Slight right Destination will be on the right 30 ft
Accessibility: Sundial Hot Springs is accessible. You can drive up to the hot springs. You will drive on a dirt road near the end of your journey. Be careful sometimes there is flash floods in wet weather. You need to make an appointment for access. There is a gate at the beginning of their property. Once you are there it is an easy walk around the property. This hot springs is not handicap accessible.
Hot Springs: Sundial Hot Springs are fed from a geothermal well pumped by a single phase, 3 hp. pump. The flow rate of 2700 gal/per hr. The softness of the water is 8 ppm. The source of the hot springs is 106 degrees. Sundial has two primitive and artsy hot spring pools. The "Little Pool" holds 3 people and is run in the cold months. The "Big Pool" and it's lower pool is run in the warm months, holds from 4-10 people. The pools are maintained at a temperature between 102° and 104°. Sundial Springs pools, 100% natural spring water and sulfur-free. Clothing is optional. No communal bathing. Hot Spring Pool reservations are by phone only, requiring a minimum of 48 hours advance notification. Overnight guests can use private pools for an hour per night.
Hot Spring Tips: Sundial Hot Springs has day use and overnight accommodations. Sundial offers 6 pull-through RV sites w/ 2 full hook-ups each sites, two tent sites and a cabin. Lodging is not available in the winter. The bathhouse has two showers, two clean toilets, and a laundry area. No children under 12 years of age. 10% discount for Pilots & Aviation Mechanics. This hot springs is pet friendly. Towels are available for rent at the office. No glass containers allowed. Keep your eyes peeled for scorpions.
