General Description: Alvord Hot Springs is rustic and primitive oasis in the high desert of Alvord in the Steens Mountians. Located in the southeastern corner of Oregon this is a privately owned hot springs with spectacular 360 degree views. There is a fee for day use and camping is available. Clothing is optional.

Accessibility: Alvord Hot Springs is accessible by the all-weather county road on the east side of Steens Mountains. Accessibility depends on the condition of the road. Once at the springs everything is in walking distance.
Hot Springs: Alvord Hot Springs has two adjacent soaking areas. The source averages about 170 degrees. A clever designed system of pipes regulates the flow and cools the pool temperature to about 105 degrees. The concrete pool is 3 feet deep and 25 by 50 feet basically divided in half. The first small is enclosed man-made pool. Next to the enclosed hot spring is an open air hot springs. The pools average between 100-105 degrees based on the season.
Hot Spring Tips: Alvord Hot Springs is open all year. This hot springs is privately owned. There is a fee for soaking. There is camping on the property. Those who pay to camp can use the pools 24 hours, while day visitors are restricted to business open hours. There is a store that has supplies. This hot springs is not clothing optional. This hot springs is pet friendly. Dogs need to be on a leash. No dogs in hot springs.
