General Description: Alkali Hot Springs is on private property and are closed to public. Previously the springs were a rustic rock‑walled tubs in the central desert of Nevada, built into the low hillside above the site of a long‑gone resort. Two small primitive tubs once collected diverted spring water, with the overflow spilling into an old cement pool and crumbling foundations on the flat below. A small concrete deck adjacent to the upper tubs made getting in and out easier, and the pools were big enough for three or four people, averaging about 3 feet deep. Water temperatures varied depending upon the time of year, but typically averaged around 108°F in the hotter tub and about 100°F in the cooler one, with slightly murky but pleasantly soakable water.
Today, Alkali Hot Springs is closed to public soaking and sits behind new fencing on private land being used as an industrial laydown yard for NV Energy’s Greenlink West transmission‑line project, and there is no announced timeline for reopening.

Hot Springs: Alkali Hot Springs has two usable primitive rock walled tubs. The source of the water is 112 degrees. The hot springs are around 105 degrees. Temperatures vary according to the season. The temperatures can be controlled by lifting either pipe to flow into or out of the pools. The runoff from the tubs flow to a concrete pool that is luke warm.
Hot Spring Tips: Alkali Hot Springs are closed as of January 2026. The springs are posted private property behind fencing and industrial equipment, and there is active construction‑related use tied to the Greenlink West transmission‑line corridor. Treat Alkali as indefinitely closed, respect gates and signs, and choose other legal Nevada hot springs instead of attempting to access this site.
